What can KnowledgeDispatch specifically do for you and your organization?  Check out these simple scenarios.

Scenario 1

You are the webmaster for a large corporation.  You preside over the headquarters website and numerous other franchise websites.  You learn that your organization has just opened a new franchise and needs another website created.  You would, of course, like to keep the franchise websites similar to each other so as to reinforce the corporation brand.  What do you do?

You are left to create a new site with whatever tools you have used to create the other franchise websites.  Perhaps you have used Front Page, Dreamweaver, or maybe even manually edited the HTML files.  Once the site is created, you will most likely need to FTP the files for the new site to the production server and update the headquarters website to include a link to the new franchise site.  Clearly, it will be no small task to get the new site up and running with content.  You can have the site up and running in a matter of minutes by using the server manager to create the site.  Your new site will be based off of a franchise site template that you have already configured to contain the pages and content you want.  The new franchise website will be immediately created with the correct taxonomy as well as content on pages where you have specified.

Scenario 2

You are the webmaster for a government organization.  You preside over a large website that contains numerous sections and pages.  Several users from different departments have expressed an interest in having the content on their respective pages frequently change.  These users have no technical background, though.  In the past, they have emailed updates to you for inclusion on the website.  The requests are becoming more frequent, though, and you find yourself having less and less time to get them done.  What do you do?

Several negative things might happen as a result of the developing problem.  The requested changes might fail to get published on the website in a timely fashion.  As the situation escalates, you will end up either hiring more people or risk having stale data on the site.  Displaying stale data could result in a problem as small as an angry consumer or as large as a full blown lawsuit.  Since the new hires will not be experts in the subject matter, the risks of mistakes being made will be heightened.

You can easily configure login accounts for the departmental users allowing them to post information to the site in a simple and restricted fashion.  Any updates they make can be forwarded to you for review and potential approval before they "go live" on the site.  Once the departmental users get comfortable editing their respective pages, you can remove the need for the approval process.

Scenario 3

You are the webmaster for a large parent organization that presides over multiple smaller subsidiary organizations.  Each individual organization has a website of their own containing the parent organizational logo, but top level management has decided the logos and color schemes have grown stale and the websites need to be rebranded.  The logos and color schemes need to change not only on the parent website, but also on the subsidiary websites.  Management has also indicated that the sites need to have a consistent look and feel.  What do you do?

Each site is developed in different programming languages with different directory structures.  You may need to edit code on each of the individual subsidiary websites to apply the new look and feel to the sites.  Depending on how many sites you have to edit and how quick you are with your coding skills, the task might end up taking you weeks or even months to accomplish.

Thanks to convenient site and page templates, you can change the look and feel in one location and apply the change to a multitude of sites.  What would have taken weeks or months will now take only hours or days.
